Finbar's Pop-Up Squirrel

Finbar O'brien

so today I had a lot of fun creating paper masks with my partner Kasra we had a lot of fun playing around with the idea of Red Squirrels fighting against Grey Squirrels.

Holly and Sophie's pop up

Holly Hailstone

Today we made a pop up hedge hog called Harry. We learnt how to make a pop up with a moving mouth,we also added some perforations. Next time i would like to learn how to make the whole body pop up on a card.

i think that Sophie did well in making the story but i think that we lost out a bit on not putting in the fur which was Sophie's job.

Sienna and Hannah

Sienna Cuthbertson

Today Hannah and I made pop up animals. Hannah and I decided to make a pop up bunny with a moving mouth. From this process we learned how to fold paper and make parts of the animal move. Tomorrow Hannah and I would like to experiment how to make more animals and different objects and shapes. We really enjoyed making the pop up bunny and painting it and cutting out bits of paper and using the hot glue gun. We also liked working together.

Louis Coubrough and Lucas Codona

Louis Coubrough
  •  Lucas and i made a bee mask along with a bee story and then presented our work to the class.
  • we learned how to make a life like mask of a bee that was partially 3D, using different materials.
  • we experimented using different materials for a mask that was supposed to be a bee.

Chloe Eilidh

Chloe & Eilidh

Today we made pop-up animals with moving mouths. we had to choose from a selection of urban animals that live in Scotland. we chose a red squirrel and made a back story fro him (Sammy).

We learned how to use different techniques in art with paper and make them 3D using pop-art.

Next day we can do bigger  scence of pop-art using different animals and different techniques form today.

Ben, Evan and Tom

Benjamin Faulkner

Today we made pop up animal faces. The animals mouth moved and we gave them a back story. Our group made a fox called Edward and a wife named Wendy. We showed how shocking the world can really be and gave our story quite a gruesome side to it.

We learned  that cars are the  biggest killer of urban foxes and that you can add a mouth to any piece paper you want so you can let it tell a story.

next time we would like to try and have a hole pop up fox and not just a face.

Sophie, Holly, and Henry the hedgehog

Sophie Cadamy

Today  we learnt how to make a paper pop up with a moving mouth. We also managed to add perforations to give it an abstract effect. It turned into a hedgehog named Henry, we painted it brown and wrote a really sad story about him and his family. Holly did a good job when folding and adding the perforations. Holly didn't do a great job of the painting side of things.

Deer Shelter Prototype

Eilidh Cornwell

Today we made our first draft of the deer shelter. We made it look camouflage with green and brown colors  using leaves, stones and grass. We also used paint. On the bottom we put a bin bag to make it water proof, for when it sits on the wet ground. It went so well that we decided to put it in Botanics or the woods as well for the smaller animals too.

We learnt how to make good structures and mix different colors of paint. We slo learned how to cut out shapes prosaically and get the right measurements.

Next time we will have to make a different shapes of structurs because if we make it bigger it would just collaps in the middle. We will scetch them out and do a few more prototypes as our drafts
